Explore Grassington
Grassington is a vibrant village with cobbled streets surrounded by shops, cafes, galleries, a museum, library, community hub, pubs and restaurants.
Saunter round the village and explore the little cobbled side-alleys where you’ll discover many intriguing and beautiful historical buildings – look out for some of the date stones above doorways. Download the Grassington Trail leaflet to enjoy your time here.
Getting to Grassington is easy – it’s a 15 minute drive from Skipton, which itself has a busy railway station on the famous Settle-Carlisle line – and has a good network of regular buses for both getting here and getting around. There is a Yorkshire Dales National Park Information Centre, plus car park and public toilets, at the bottom of the village.
For the walker and nature lover, a myriad of footpaths reveal ancient woodland, windswept moorland, a patchwork of dry-stone walls and hay meadows, wild orchids, rushing becks, limestone pavements and magnificent views of Wharfedale with a soundtrack of lambs and curlews.
