Getting to Grassington

Getting to Grassington could not be easier. Just 40 miles from Leeds and 9 miles from Skipton, which has a mainline train service. Frequent local buses run up and down the dale, making getting around whilst you are here easy, too.

Explore Wharfedale

The River Wharfe cuts its way from Langstrothdale to Bolton Abbey, with villages dotted along the glacial valley bottom. Dry stone walls and hay barns are part of the stunning scenery. A walkers’ paradise with miles of footpaths to explore.

Grassington's History

Grassington has a long and varied history, from the Bronze Age through to the arrival of the Romans, lead mining and farming.  Signs of the past, such as the Strip Lynchets, Lead Mining, Iron Age forts and stone circles can be found.

What’s on
