Explore Linton
Just down the road from Grassington is the picture-perfect village of Linton, with village green, stream to picnic by, pub and Fountaine Hospital, a Grade II listed Palladian style almshouse that was built by Richard Fountaine to provide shelter to the village’s poor in 1721. It is still used today as a home for the elderly. Linton Falls, upstream on the River Wharfe are a spectacular series of waterfalls cascading over limestone. Don’t miss a visit to the delightful C12th Church of St Michael and All Angels. Can you cross the river by the stepping stones?
