All Our Stories: The Settlement
HERITAGE LOTTERY FUND
ALL OUR STORIES
The second major film by local film maker Geoff Kerr. The latest film about the history of Grassington and the people who have settled here over the last 12000 years.
Production was made possible through funding received from the Heritage Lottery Fund–All Our Stories stream. Geoff and local historian Cynthia Colley have put together an entertaining and informative documentary that travels from the last ice age to the present time and discusses among other things the geology, and archaeology of this beautiful area along with sections on mediaeval and early industrial periods of our history.
On the darker side there is a dramatised account of the TRUE story of Grassington’s infamous murderer Tom Lee.
The making of this film has truly been a collaborative affair involving over 40 people from the local community. So enjoy a glass of bubbly and celebrate with us the completion of this year long project.

The video will investigate the different peoples that have settled in Grassington and its immediate surroundings from the last ice age until the present time. We intend to look at who settled here, where they came from, why they came here, what they did while they were here and perhaps why they left. We will discuss the politics of the time but will concentrate on the local effects of what are often national or global events.
