Explore Appletreewick
Appletreewick is a lovely village with 17th and 18th century cottages lining the single road. Welcoming pubs, river walks and nearby Parcevall Hall just up the road make this a haven for walkers and cyclists. This is the place from where William Craven set off to make his fortune in London and became Lord Mayor in 1620. Great walks from here are Trollers Gill (dare you face The Barguest which is reputed to haunt this lonely place) and the craggy Simons Seat.
