Explore Kilnsey and Conistone

Just 3 miles from Grassington is Kilnsey, famous for its limestone grit crag around 170 feet high, which attracts climbers to the area for the challenging experience of climbing its 40-foot overhang.  The annual Kilnsey Show is an absolute must.

Just across the river on the opposite side of the valley is the small village of Conistone.  Here you will find St. Mary’s parish church, which is of medieval origin, and nearby the Maypole surrounded by seats for visitors.  The walks here are spectacular, including Gurling Trough, Conistone Dib, and the outcrop known as Conistone Pie from which there are wide open views up and down the Dale.
